The IRTC handbook was given to the new recruits as they arrived for training prior to combat in Europe. Some aspects of the handbook seems like the recruits are at "summer camp". But page 5 puts the training in perspective - "Learn your lesson well during your training period and avoid having your mistakes marked by a cross on the battle field."
This historical reproduction was carefully reproduced from photos of an actual an IRTC handbook on display at the Camp Blanding museum in conjuction with the filming of the documentary – “The High Price of Freedom – PFC Harold B. McCarn”. Some pages appear to be missing.
